Choosing the park

Choose the right park – The types of holiday park available are almost as varied as the landscape itself! Quite apart from the types of holiday home, the on-site facilities vary greatly. Some parks are quite and consist of nothing more than caravans, lodges or log cabins situated in the countryside with little or no entertainment. These are perfect for couples who just want total relaxation in some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. You can escape the stresses and strains of everyday life and recharge your batteries. They are, perhaps, not so suitable for families with children.

If you are a family with children then you will probably be better finding a park that is on or close to a beach and, also, has on-site facilities. Parks with facilities vary from offering just a basic club or pub to all-singing, all-dancing parks. Some of them have swimming pools, kids clubs, tennis courts, adventure playgrounds, cabaret clubs, bowling alleys, arcades and even bingo! I have mentioned the two extreme ends of the holiday park spectrum – there are a huge number of parks that lie between these two extremes.

Do enough research on the park and you will be sure to find one that fits your needs exactly. If you intend on taking your family dog with you please ensure that the park allows dogs and ask about any additional charges and facilities for dogs. Some sites have enclosed dog pens to let your four legged friend have a run. Some even have marked out dog walks through stunning countryside. If you are planning to take your dog on a beach please check locally beforehand as some beaches do not allow dogs at certain times of the year.
